THE DDS HARDWARE

This project was built "ugly" style - and it works well! No PCB layouts are available. The following diagrams illustrate the

connectivity of the key components. Precise design values of the filter and buffer amplifier will depend upon the application.It's presumed that constructors will refer to data sheets and are able to design suitable filters and buffer amplifiers for their specific applications - I will try to include more detail of my circuit at a later time. Remember to use plenty of decoupling, especially around the AD9850, separate power and ground planes offer best performance - see photo's in construction section. Although not shown in this diagram, a quartz crystal (8.86MHz with this software - probably not too critical) is connected between the OSC1 and OSC2 terminals on each PIC. Capacitors (I think 39pF - check the PIC data sheet for against crystal frequency) go from each OSC terminal to ground.
